Bella Vita is a student run website, student meaning me, ‘Bella Valdivia’, a freshman at Florida State University. ‘Bella Vita’ means beautiful life in Italian and that is exactly what I am striving for and wanting to put aspects of, into this site. The purpose of my brand is to inform others and expand their knowledge on the way books, movies and television series face controversial issues, and the accuracy of their work.
Creating drama is a huge way to grab the attention of an audience and even distract them from the real-life topics and issues going on in the narrative. Through this website, ‘Bella Vita’ I want to inspire you to delve deeper into works of fiction and find the important themes and parts of the story. These important factors of a story can be anything from events during a certain time in history, assumptions and stereotypes about people and places and many other factors that can be overlooked when watching a movie or television show. This brand wants to inspire and encourage authentic writing. It can be hard to branch out and stick out from the ‘status quo’ when writing, especially when mainstream media continues to put out the same kind of stories and narratives.
Through this website I hope you are able to find different takes on the same kind of stories and feel like you have a different perspective or understanding on something you’ve seen before.
More About Me: I was born and raised in Orlando, Florida where all my family lives. Growing up the values that were instilled in me were family, friendship, kindness and respect. I am freshman at Florida State University, just starting my college journey, ready to learn, grow and experience new things. I am majoring in criminology and interested in studying the reason behind crimes and the minds of criminals. I am an avid television show and movie fan; I love to binge shows and get into the characters. My passion for stories and characters will blend into my writing throughout this website and I hope you, the readers, are able to see that.
What To Expect: As a reader of my website you will see me approach research questions related to stories and narratives. Each project is designed for you, the reader, to explore different research questions and become further interested and educated on them. In my first project I will consider the certain stigmas created by a narrative and explore the more important themes beyond the drama of the story. In my second project I will discuss the convention of genres and what makes them, what they are. For example, what type of components make up a Horror film. Finally, in my third project I will create my own narrative intended to interest and captivate the readers. Throughout all these projects I hope those who read them get a better insight to who I am as a person and how that reflects in my writing. The point of my website is to be connected to one another and feel that we understand each other through my projects and my writing.
